Starlight Children's FoundationTM
In 2008, Qdoba selected Starlight Children’s Foundation as its national charity partner. Starlight is an international charity dedicated to helping seriously ill children and their families cope with pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities. We feel that by working together, Qdoba can help raise money to support Starlight’s efforts, raise awareness about this organization and the programs it provides, and offer volunteer opportunities for our team members throughout the year. Ultimately, we hope to brighten the lives of tens of thousands of seriously ill children and their families throughout the country.
For more than 25 years, Starlight Children’s Foundation has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and life-altering injuries by offering a comprehensive menu of outpatient, hospital-based and online offerings that enable the charity to provide ongoing support for children and families — from diagnosis through the entire course of medical treatment.
Research studies have found that Starlight’s programs help reduce children’s pain while helping them to better deal with, understand and manage their illnesses. In addition, Starlight programs help the child, parents and siblings bond as a family and experience less depression, anxiety, pain and isolation.
Since launching its partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation, Qdoba has made donations of food, volunteer hours and funds to various programs in locations across the country including Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Omaha, Washington, D.C. and Portland (to name just a few). Qdoba has also sponsored Starlight Fun Center mobile entertainment units for placement in hospitals in St. Louis, Denver, Boston, and Dillon, Colorado, and will soon be sponsoring a Fun Center for placement in the Atlanta area.
